Galabin Boevski, a Bulgarian weightlifter, World Champion and Olympic Champion, went to nine months in prison due to illegal international drug trade. This sportsman was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he attempted to board the plane with eight kg of cocaine. He was headed to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in countries of Europe.  
Galabin Boevski is a celebrated athlete in Bulgaria. He is considered to be one of the most well-known weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught using steroids in 1995. Of course, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this weightlifter was caught administering banned drugs in 2004. It was the second time when he violated doping rules. In fact, Galabin Boevski didn’t test positive for any prohibited products. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine that was provided by this athlete belonged to another person. As a result, Galabin Boevski received 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught trafficking cocaine.
Boevski became prominent due to his success in weightlifting. This sportsperson won gold medals at several competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this athlete and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another individual. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the three urine samples were produced by one person. These sportsmen received suspensions. Galabi Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Boevski broke certain world records at different competitions. He held three world records. The best lifts of this person were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is wondering but Boevski’s reputation was not spoiled in Bulgaria. He used his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The center was named Atama Wellness and Spa.
Furthermore, the Brazilian judge Maria Isabel do Prado noted that Galabin Boevski applied also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic the narcotic cocaine. She also noted that this sportsman utilized the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament to hide his illegal deals connected with smuggling of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Boevski said that he would appeal the conviction.

Shocking testimony presented by Andy Pettitte at Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse

The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton noted that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. In fact, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the federal prosecutors’ embarrassment. They asked the judge to brush aside Andy Pettitte’s testimony because he was 50-50. According to the attorneys, he probably misunderstood the athlete Roger Clemens or he forgot the details of the conversation.

Cop-killer probably used steroids before shootout

Law enforcement officials raided Cullen Mutrie’s house for a steroid investigation. This ma shot five police officers at his home. As a result of the shootout, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney  was killed; other four police officers were wounded. The next morning Cullen Mutrie and a woman were found dead.
It is supposed that Mutrie was administering steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, noted that toxicology reports were waiting in order to learn whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this killer.
Police affirmed that Cullen Mutrie had had very muscular appearance. This person worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was claimed that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. Cullen Mutrie weighed 275 pounds. During a search which took place in July 2010 police officials found anabolic steroids at his home. The police official Wayne Young found them in a coffee table. He said that he had observed a plastic bag with some vials. One vial was with powder; others contained liquid. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was confirmed that the vials contained such medicines, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
The professor of kinesiology John Miller was asked whether a connection between the criminal actions and aggressiveness due to anabolic steroids could present. The specialist noticed that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to conclude that there was a direct link between usage of anabolic steroids and the crime.
John Miller supposed that steroids which were on the black market were provided from legal pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are offered for sales on the black market are manufactured in underground labs. It is even suggested that Cullen Mutrie manufactured steroids.
Since a link between crimes and administration of steroids is a controversial question, not only policemen but also correspondents investigate the case connected with the cop-killer.

While Dana White wants to convince others that it is impossible to test randomly 375 UFC athletes, other sport organizations do it with their athletes. They perform random testing with success.
It is not wholly clear what happens really. Does Dana White want to mislead media about administration of prohibited products in the UFC? Or is he ignorant wholly, when it comes to the rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency?
The Chief Executive Officer of the US Anti-Doping Agency states that the UFC does everything in order to avoid agreement with the laws of the WADA. They have own rules and struggle against the WADA Code. A judge didn’t believe that a former police officer’s addiction to steroids led him to corruption

The former West Chest Police Department David Busemeyer attempted to prove that his addiction to anabolic steroids had caused his corruption. But the former cop was not able to convince the judge. As a result, the former police officer received 6 months in prison. Busemeyer was pleaded guilty to leaking confidential information of the Police Department that started an investigation related to a steroid dealer.
The former police official told in the court that he had been furious and upset due to his drug addiction.
Richard Skelton, the defense attorney for the former police officer, tried to convince the judge that his client had to be cured from his addiction. The attorney put efforts to manifest that it would be the most appropriate sentence for this person’s crime.
According to some court documents, David Busemeyer used steroids for 4 years. Furthermore, he took 10-15 pain tablets under prescriptions to relieve pains caused by steroids.  
But the judge rejected such excuse. It seemed at the beginning that he intended to hand down even harsher sentence but then he gave a lighter sentence because he had to be conducted by sentencing guidelines.
The judge Spaeth affirmed that Busemeyer had put at risk own safety and safety of other police officials. He jeopardized reputation of the whole police department.
 It became evident that Busemeyer had extra-marital relationship with the sister of the distributor of steroids that was investigated by the West Chest Police Department. David Busemeyer informed his girlfriend and his brother that an investigation to bust the drug dealer began to be conducted.
However Busemeyer didn’t say the name of the informant, he presented enough information to understand who the informant was.
Police officials raided Busemeyer’s house and found steroids and evidence of his application of steroids.
It was made a decision not to bring a criminal action against David Busemeyer for possession of steroids and fake prescriptions for usage of these medications.
