British driver who hit another one in face blames steroids for his aggressiveness

However it is not yet displayed scientifically whether uncontrolled aggressiveness is a negative reaction of steroids, these products are blamed for various criminal actions quite often.
Michael Barton, a young person from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was driving the Ford Fiesta. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then Michael Barton had to pull back in front of him, since another car was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake immediately. Barton got furious, stopped his car, broke the wing mirror of Gard’s vehicle and hit Gard in the face. Then Gard’s wife called police. While she was calling, Barton drove off calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old person that has a child of two years old, administers steroids for bulking results. So, it has been said that these medicines affected his behavior. The defense attorney for Michael Barton affirmed that steroids had a negative impact on temperament of his client, since these medicines increased his levels of testosterone.
Previously Michael Barton was convicted for several crimes, including domestic violence. Last year he pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving carelessly due to his anger following assaults.
Patrick Hooton, the judge, claimed that he was not sure that steroids were responsible for the case. But he noticed that it was totally mad to become furious and hit a person in the face just because he flashed him. The judge claimed that Barton’s behavior was too immoral and he said: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, this man was given 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also enforced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the Ford Fiesta.

Green and white tea can help dopers to avoid detection

Sportspeople become more and more sophisticated in usage of steroids. They study new ways to mask their administration of forbidden drugs. Some athletes spend time studying specialists’ affirmations that can help them to hide that they dope. Today a way has been found: sportspeople may mask intake of testosterone with the help of green tea.
Testosterone is a hormone which presents in body naturally. Thus, it may be difficult for anti-doping agencies to determine that an athlete has taken testosterone. T: E ratio testing is ordinarily used by anti-doping agencies. Such tests may manifest uncommon ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it doesn’t display difference between testosterone which has been created in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, gels, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have found that green tea contains such compounds which are called “catechins”. They can inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme induces attaching glucuronic acid to testosterone. In case UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the substances which have ability to mask testosterone use, are contained in green and white tea. Black tea doesn’t contain such compounds.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted several experiments. They confirm that a cup of strong green tea hides administration of testosterone.
So, those sportspeople who apply testosterone may reduce quantities of testosterone excreting in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea is able to block excretion of testosterone, increasing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the findings by the specialists. If this process occurs, it means that it is not worthy to subject athletes to urine tests. Blood tests should be performed in order to determine that a person has used testosterone.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s specialist, confirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping officials in order to prevent fooling of urine tests.

Amino acids caused doping case against Wim Vansevenant

The case related to Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, altered dramatically. An analysis illustrated that the doping medicines that were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents written on the labels. This person was cheated by the company where he ordered the medicines.
Last year several packages sent to this former professional rider by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. According to the labels of  the intercepted  bottles,  they contained the doping drug TB-500. It is a peptide hormone that has ability to enhance muscle power and promote healing. The Belgian authorities started an investigation. It was suspected that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping medications. This athlete rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of the career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles seized by customs manifested that just amino acids were presented. Wim Vansevenant’s lawyer confirmed that the charges had to be dropped. He pointed out that since the product was not connected with doping, the former sportsperson didn’t deserve to be punished.
The prosecutor’s spokesperson Johan Lescrauwaet claimed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the drug which was indicated on the label and to the affirmations of the former athlete.
Just amino acids were found in the bottles. No any doping medicine. So, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping drugs to other individuals.
The hearing of the former Belgian rider was scheduled to be later.

Bruce Goldberger in hearing related to Roger Clemens: Inadequate ways are used by anti-doping agencies

Testimonies of the famous toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably impact essentially on decision of the court in the case connected with Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This specialist didn’t testify on behalf of the government. However he was invited in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies didn’t correspond to those which are ordinarily presented by anti-doping organizations. He testified on behalf of the accused baseball player.
Bruce Goldberger has gotten his celebrity due to his appearing on different news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t refrain from critical words. Bruce Goldberger criticized several anti-doping agencies, including the WADA.
The toxicologist criticized feds in the case linked with Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by McNamee to prove that Roger Clemens took steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of this baseball player, provided a beer can containing utilized needles and syringes that had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with blood of Roger Clemens. The beer can was stored by McNamee more than 6 years. The toxicologist argued that such basis wasn’t reasonable.
Goldberger claimed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He noted that the accusation couldn’t be proven because the theory of contamination could present.
Thus, Goldberger didn’t support the affirmations of the government. Earlier he also expressed criticism connected with evidence used by certain anti-doping organizations.
Several years ago Goldberger testified on behalf of Floyd Landis, an American celebrated cyclist, when this athlete appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab located in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were applied by the lab. Goldberger expressed similar words and criticism during the appeal connected with Floyd Landis.
Goldberger claimed during an interview that the WADA utilized inadequate ways and violated rights of athletes in order to reach the success in anti-doping programs.
Floyd Landis didn’t have success in his appeal and acknowledged that he had applied steroids, EPO and certain other related medications.
No one knows which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the government prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to taking prohibited drugs? Or will be the results contrary?

Roger Clemens doesn’t have increased muscularity that could support that he has used steroids and HGH

It is known by each baseball fan that Roger Clemens is charged with obstruction of justice. It is claimed that he has lied before Congress about intake of steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin claimed that Roger Clemens’ physical appearance didn’t change greatly before, during and after his working with Brian McNamee. The attorney claimed that this aspect was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t taken steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs.
Appearance of muscles is normally used by prosecutors as proof that an athlete uses steroids or/and other performance-enhancing drugs. But this tendency was not used during the case against Roger Clemens. No one could claim that muscles of Roger Clemens manifested that he had administered steroids and HGH. It is one of differences between the cases against Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.
As for the governmental case against Barry Bonds, federal prosecutors called many individuals in the trial that could testify that anabolic steroids promoted evidential changes in physique of this athlete. They affirmed that intake of steroids caused increase of muscle mass, increased size of the head and testicular atrophy in Barry Bonds.
So, Rusty Hardin showed 4 photos of Roger Clemens. The pictures were made four different times during the baseball career of Roger Clemens, including the time when Clemens was working with the coach Brain McNamee. Hardin pointed out that the pictures displayed that there were no changes in physical appearance that could manifest that he used steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin claimed that the photos manifested only the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern noticed that she didn’t observe any changes in physique of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens had neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor dramatically enhanced muscle size.
The former Major League Baseball player Phil Garner also claimed that there were not any significant changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the coach Brian McNamee.
Steve Durham, the Assistant US Attorney put efforts to discredit the argument about lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens during the cross-examination of the former baseball player Phil Garner. He claimed that while some steroids increased muscle size, others didn’t induce enhancing muscles. So, he claimed that the photos could say nothing about steroid use.
Feds desire to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they confirm that changes in physical appearance of Barry Bonds display that he has applied steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t applied steroids.

Norwegian killer applied steroid cycles before his massacre

Anders Behring Breivik was charged with murder of 70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Some teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also murdered by this person on Utoya island in July 2011.
Anders Behring Breivik trained for the deadly actions significantly. He admitted that he had utilized cycles with steroids.  Since he administered steroids, these medications were demonized for the deadly actions by many journalists.
But what did specialists say? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these reporters. The expert Joerge Moerland confirmed that anabolic steroids should not be demonized for the crimes. But the specialist admitted that he couldn’t exclude that these drugs could lead to aggressiveness in the killer.
An ECA, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also taken by the murderer. Actually, this stack is ordinarily used by bodybuilders in order to lose fat and stimulate themselves for workouts. It was set that Anders Breivik has applied great quantity of the combination. The quantity taken by him was by 50 % more increased than it is allowed under European Union’s rules.
The expert Moerland confirmed that Breivik’s behavior was more essentially affected by the ECA than steroids. He pointed out that ephedrine might cause desire to be implicated in dangerous activities. Joerge Moerland confirmed that the killer’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nonetheless, the toxicologist Joerge Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ influence. The quantity of caffeine consumed by Breivik was equal to circa 5 cups of coffee. Thus, the amount was not enough enhanced in order to be blamed for the massacre.
Anders Breivik described his intake of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other persons purchasing steroids at Alinshop.
Anders Breivik noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it could lead to water retention. He noted that Dianabol could add more body weight than one could carry. According to his affirmations, about 50 % of the mass obtained because of this drug is water retention. Anders Breivik decided to apply certain stacks that were proper for his purposes.
Anders Breivik studied effects of different steroids in order to choose those who were suitable for his purposes. He confirmed that Testosterone Propionate had certain priorities over Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or usage of Dianabol followed by usage of Winstrol could benefit obviously.
Thus, Breivik prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to study effects of steroids and plan steroid cycles and administration of dietary supplements. He also pondered about each detail linked with attacks and murders.
Although some persons believed that Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that he has done it consciously.

Sydney Morning Herald: motorcycle gangs provide steroids for bodybuilding

According to the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald”, illegal application of steroids has become widespread in Australia due to outlaw motorcycle gangs. The gangs have significant profit and reduced risks.
Nick Bingham, a detective, has said that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation connected with intake of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when police officers arrest motorcycle gangs for violation of other laws.
According to Nick Bingham, however New South Wales policemen don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when searches for weapons and stimulants are conducted.
The detective Nick Bingham has claimed that they commonly seize such quantities of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are just for personal application. Quantities of other preparations that are commonly found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
The detective Nick Bingham has affirmed that criminals like taking anabolic steroids in order to get threatening muscular physiques. They want to look big and powerful.
Although Bingham assures that gangs possess steroids just for personal usage, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” doesn’t agree with his opinion. It reports that motorcycle gangs are involved in smuggling of steroids.
However gyms are claimed to be the main sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is reported by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that certain gyms have close links with motorcycle gangs. The Herald claims that numerous seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are connected directly with distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to reports of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been increased essentially in comparison with past years.
Over 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and over 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
The most of seizures were connected with self-application of steroids imported by bodybuilders.

Role of David Segui in Roger Clemens’ case

Federal prosecutors want the judge Reggie Walton to permit the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball David Segui to testify in the trial connected with the case of Roger Clemens. This player had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former trainer of Roger Clemens. It is stated that they have discussed about administration of steroids by the former well-known baseball player.
McNamee was chosen to testify against Roger Clemens because he turned out to be the only person who had direct knowledge about application of steroids and other related medicines by Roger Clemens. Moreover, Brian McNamee saved a beer can with vials, syringes and needles that were allegedly mixed with Roger Clemens’ blood. DNA analysis was conducted in order to confirm whether the blood belonged really to Clemens.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, said that the steroid evidence was fabricated by Brian McNamee after the interrogation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors confirmed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he stored some things as evidence of steroid use by some players in 2001. It was some years before the former trainer of Roger Clemens became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by Segui to federal prosecutors differed essentially from that provided to the sportswriter Jim Baumbach. His statements provided to Jim Baumbach were published in an article in 2008. According to that article, David Segui confirmed that he had never spoken about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui learnt about involvement of Brian McNamee into the case of Roger Clemens just in 2006, when he read an article in the Los Angeles Times.
David Segui was quite open in his discussions about personal intake of steroids and other related products. He said that players of the Major League Baseball asked him many times whether he had utilized steroids. The former Major League Baseball first baseman acknowledged that he had applied them. But Segui claimed that he had never discussed about usage of steroids with Brian McNamee.
Segui supported the decision of McNamee to store evidence about application of banned preparations by his clients. According to David Segui, it is a reasonable decision because sometimes innocent guys are blamed but guilty individuals are covered. Thus, Brian McNamee could help to disclose the truth.
However the judge Walton was asked to permit David Segui to present testimony in the trial linked with Roger Clemens, it is unclear yet whether the judge will allow it.

This month Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency caught 2 boxers that had used steroids

The Haitian-American professional boxer Andre Berto tested positive for Nandrolone. The drug testing was conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).
Andre Berto was scheduled to fight against Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. This boxer agreed to submit to random drug testing before the fight. T: E ratio method and carbon isotope ratio testing were used; they both indicated about usage of Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested boxers and caught them taking steroids. The first of them was the boxer Lamont Peterson. He was scheduled to fight against Amir Khan. It is quite ironically that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA indicated that exogenous testosterone was in this boxer’s system certain weeks before the fight.
The tests conducted by the VADA influenced greatly on financial position of several companies. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost significant potential profit due to positives of Lamont Peterson. It was estimated by the CEO of the company Richard Schaeffer that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not cost so much because Andre Berto will be possibly replaced by another boxer who will fight against Ortiz.
The boxer Andre Berto didn’t explain why he tested positive. This fighter hired the attorney Howard Jacobs who would represent and defeat him.
Berto said that he had never taken steroids. So, he noticed that he investigated with his attorney what could lead to positives for steroids. The fighter Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he succeeded in sport because of hard work and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs was hired by many other athletes that turned out to be victims of contaminated nutritional supplements.
It is said that since Nandrolone has too long half life and it is detected easily, it is not widespread among doping sportspeople. But it has been shown many times that several nutritional supplements contained the compound nandrolone that caused positives for steroids. But since sometimes not each compound is listed on the label, athletes become victims of contaminated dietary supplements.

Chael Sonnen could obtain TUE to fight at UFC 148

The American mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen is allowed to take anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor noticed that this sportsman really suffered from hypogonadism.
What does this disorder represent? Hypogonadism is linked with insufficient testosterone secretion. Doctors usually indicate hormone replacement therapy for treatment of this condition.
The athlete Chael Sonnen has acquired a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). Thus, he is allowed to utilize steroids for clinical purposes and meet Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to instructions given by Chael Sonnen’s health care provider, he should introduce injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice weekly. The measures which are prescribed have not been discussed. But under establishments of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in this fighter must remain within normal range on the morning after the match with Silva.
According to the doctor Trainor, those who fight, having TUE, must be tested on the morning after the match to define whether they have administered something right before the fight.
Trainor believes that testosterone is able to cause performance-enhancing effects, if it is taken right before the fight. He claims that injections must not be introduced in the days before a fight to prevent high levels of testosterone.
But it seems that the NAC is not aware that steroids cause benefits linked with enhancement of performance, not only if they are applied right before competitions. Application of steroids influences significantly on performance during workouts before competitions. And the benefits remain even after athletes stop administering them.
The fighter Chael Sonnen had increased testosterone levels at UFC 117. He confirmed that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  After his appeal the suspension was lowered to 6 months from one year. But he didn’t have any TUE that time.

Galabin Boevski was caught smuggling narcotics during serving his suspension due to steroid use

Galabin Boevski, a Bulgarian weightlifter, World Champion and Olympic Champion, went to nine months in prison due to illegal international drug trade. This sportsman was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he attempted to board the plane with eight kg of cocaine. He was headed to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in countries of Europe.
Galabin Boevski is a celebrated athlete in Bulgaria. He is considered to be one of the most well-known weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught using steroids in 1995. Of course, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this weightlifter was caught administering banned drugs in 2004. It was the second time when he violated doping rules. In fact, Galabin Boevski didn’t test positive for any prohibited products. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine that was provided by this athlete belonged to another person. As a result, Galabin Boevski received 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught trafficking cocaine.
Boevski became prominent due to his success in weightlifting. This sportsperson won gold medals at several competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this athlete and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another individual. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the three urine samples were produced by one person. These sportsmen received suspensions. Galabi Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Boevski broke certain world records at different competitions. He held three world records. The best lifts of this person were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is wondering but Boevski’s reputation was not spoiled in Bulgaria. He used his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The center was named Atama Wellness and Spa.
Furthermore, the Brazilian judge Maria Isabel do Prado noted that Galabin Boevski applied also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic the narcotic cocaine. She also noted that this sportsman utilized the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament to hide his illegal deals connected with smuggling of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Boevski said that he would appeal the conviction.

Shocking testimony presented by Andy Pettitte at Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse

The desire of the federal government linked with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they desired to prove that this sportsperson had lied before the Congress about application of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government was not able to reach this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would claim that Roger Clemens had acknowledged that he had administered the banned products during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the testimony of Andy Pettitte was shocking for prosecutors. He said that he couldn’t affirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
In fact, why were the prosecutors shocked by the affirmation of Andy Pettittte? This person swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on usage of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens admitted to usage of HGH. But he pronounced opposite affirmations at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he may claim that he is 50-50 that he has understood wrongly Roger Clemens about HGH. Pettitte answered that he is indeed 50-50 about this factor.
When the prosecutors heard Pettitte’s answer, they became confused. They confirmed that Pettitte never answered this way, when he was asked several times.
The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton noted that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. In fact, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the federal prosecutors’ embarrassment. They asked the judge to brush aside Andy Pettitte’s testimony because he was 50-50. According to the attorneys, he probably misunderstood the athlete Roger Clemens or he forgot the details of the conversation.
The government has noticed that the jury still allows taking into account the testimony of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has confirmed that under federal laws jury is allowed to choose which affirmation to believe. This person hopes that the jury will ignore the testimony that doesn’t support the government.
Thus, the testimony presented by Andy Pettitte and his wife caused problems. Testimonies of his wife during the first trial resulted in the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte claims that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also claim that they are friends after Andy  Pettitte’s last testimony.

Cop-killer probably used steroids before shootout

Law enforcement officials raided Cullen Mutrie’s house for a steroid investigation. This ma shot five police officers at his home. As a result of the shootout, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney  was killed; other four police officers were wounded. The next morning Cullen Mutrie and a woman were found dead.
It is supposed that Mutrie was administering steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, noted that toxicology reports were waiting in order to learn whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this killer.
Police affirmed that Cullen Mutrie had had very muscular appearance. This person worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was claimed that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. Cullen Mutrie weighed 275 pounds. During a search which took place in July 2010 police officials found anabolic steroids at his home. The police official Wayne Young found them in a coffee table. He said that he had observed a plastic bag with some vials. One vial was with powder; others contained liquid. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was confirmed that the vials contained such medicines, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
The professor of kinesiology John Miller was asked whether a connection between the criminal actions and aggressiveness due to anabolic steroids could present. The specialist noticed that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to conclude that there was a direct link between usage of anabolic steroids and the crime.
John Miller supposed that steroids which were on the black market were provided from legal pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are offered for sales on the black market are manufactured in underground labs. It is even suggested that Cullen Mutrie manufactured steroids.
Since a link between crimes and administration of steroids is a controversial question, not only policemen but also correspondents investigate the case connected with the cop-killer.

Alistar Overeem’s defense attorney called his client’s doctor to appeal hearing

Alistar Overeem, a UFC fighter, appealed his suspension that was received by him for intake of anabolic steroids in April 2012. But Alistar Overeem couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. He forfeited his license for nine months. Then Alistar Overeem can come back.
Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he had administered injectable testosterone that was advised him by his health care provider. Overeem used the strategy which was claimed to be boring. He noticed that he had never taken anabolic steroids or other related products intentionally. He tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable usage of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in defending well-known sportspeople.
Chesnoff called the personal doctor of Alistar Overeem to testify during the appeal. It was supposed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this athlete. Testimonies of this health care provider were too pitiable. The doctor Molina presented an explanation for prescriptions of several medications that led to Overeem’s enhanced testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating doctor of Alistar Overeem admitted that he indicated and injected his patient with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he suffered from an injury. In fact, these medications are taken for anti-inflammatory purposes. But application of testosterone in case of injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is supposed that the physician Molina hasn’t warned his patient that these remedies contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is obviously that he has never asked about it.
Thus, testimonies of Dr. Molina turned out to display lack of the evidence connected with clinical needs for administration of prohibited medications by Alistar Overeem. The health care provider couldn’t present any reasonable explanation that could justify recommendations of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this athlete. Testimonies of the physician Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
In fact, it became evident that Alistar Overeem was a victim of the physician’s quack.
But it is possible to suggest that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this fighter.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Overeem. She even referred to him as to a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to be convinced that Alistar Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as the doctor Moline. They recommended him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
