Steroid use by Rampage Jackson

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, a mixed martial artist and actor, described benefits of testosterone in the interview with Gary Alexander of “Fighters Only Magazine”. He said about his decision to apply testosterone, about its effects on enhancement of muscle size, his bodyweight and his sexual life. He pronounced these words after his fail at UFC 144 in Japan.
Rampage Jackson was openly talking about his decision to find a physician who could recommend him testosterone replacement therapy. He mentioned honestly because he thought that testosterone didn’t belong to anabolic steroids. The UFC champion noted that steroids were for muscles but testosterone was natural. Thus, he was mistaken, thinking that testosterone isn’t an anabolic steroid.
In fact, application of testosterone replacement therapy in mixed martial arts is a controversial question. Testosterone is used legally in case of hypogonadism (reduced testosterone production). Thus, mixed martial artists who suffer from this condition may obtain a therapeutic use exemption that permits to take the steroid testosterone legally.
But the issue that is widely discussed is whether the sportsperson who takes therapeutic quantity of testosterone can get unfair advantage during competitions.
The most of sportspersons that have obtained a therapeutic use exemption for usage of testosterone for medical purposes deny receiving any enhancement of performance due to testosterone replacement therapy.
As for Rampage Jackson, he acknowledged that testosterone replacement therapy had promoted increasing his muscle mass, helped to get faster recovery from his injuries and had positive effect on his sexual abilities. The mixed martial artist confirmed that he had had a knee injury. After he had introduced 3 measures of testosterone, the knee was healed. He added bodyweight and muscle mass. He reported that small dosages of the steroid testosterone had caused evident changes in him. His sexual life was improved essentially; he began to feel as if he had been just 25.
Rampage Jackson blamed steroids for his impossibility to lose weight in order to meet criteria of the 206lb weight category.
Jackson claims that he doesn’t break any rule. He uses testosterone and confirms that it is legally.
Jackson Rampage notes that he is glad that he takes testosterone.
